Shivan Mahendrarajah
Shivan Mahendrarajah Is a research fellow at St. Andrews and the author of The Sufi Saint of Jam; History, Religion, and Politics of a Sunni Shrine in Shi'i Iran. He was educated at Columbia University and the University of Cambridge. He studied Arabic at Damascus University and Persian at the University of Tehran. He returns often to Afghanistan and Iran. He is the junior editor of Afghanistan: The Journal of the American Institute of Afghanistan Studies. Shivan is completing work on a second book, a history of Herat under Mongol and Kartid rule.
