A Sahabi who embraced Islam in his youth. He was present with Muhammad in all his engagements except at Badr. He is held to be one of the ‘Asharah Mubashsharah, or ten patriarchs of the Muslim faith. Died at ‘Aqiq, A.H. 51, aged 79.
