Jāhiliyya __socratesPageHistoryEdit Visual Text <strong>Jāhiliyya</strong> Commonly known as the "age of ignorance", <em>jāhiliyya </em>refers to the centuries before Muhammad arrived as a prophet. The ignorance exists in the fact that the people of this time had not yet discovered the divine truth.
